Galgenmühle (colloquially: "Galngmíl") is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The former wasteland has become a settlement that has grown together with Ansbach in the west and south, Hennenbach in the north and Kammerforst in the east. Immediately to the north flows the Hennenbach, a left tributary of the Franconian Rezat .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1400 as "Galgenmül" with the meaning to the mill under the Galgenberg . Originally the Galgenmühle was a Würzburger Stiftslehen, in 1468 it passed into the possession of Ludwig von Eyb in Sommersdorf , who sold it to the Gumbertussift in the same year .

Towards the end of the 18th century, the gallows mill belonged to Hennenbach . The mill had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Abbey Office in Ansbach as the landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, Galgenmühle was given house numbers 25 and 26 of the village of Hennenbach. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Galgenmühle was assigned to the Hennenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Hennenbach , which was founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
