Heimweg (colloquially: "Heimwēch") is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The place located on Bundesstraße 14 today forms a closed settlement with Ansbach in the west and the windmill in the east.

history

Karl Heinrich Ritter von Lang had this place built in 1816/17 as his retirement home. He united the entire land on the Urlas in his possession by buying up the land around the windmill as far as the Rabenhof , which at that time was desolate and desolate because there were sandstone pits where, from 1710, stone blocks were broken for the palace. With the purchase of these lands he had taken over, so that after his death in 1835 an estate bankruptcy had to be carried out. The way home was in the municipality of Hennenbach .

The facility was later expanded and is now a retirement home.

On July 1, 1972 Heimweg was incorporated into Ansbach as part of the regional reform .
