Wüstenbruck (colloquially: ə st ə brúk ) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Höllmühlbach rises in the village and is a left tributary of the Altmühl . Approx. The Brücklesweiher lies 0.5 km to the northwest, the Schönfeldwald forest in the northeast and the Schweizeräcker in the east . A community road leads to Höfen (0.6 km southwest) or the B 14 (0.4 km south).

history

The village was first mentioned by name in 1342 as "Wustenpruk". The defining word of the place name is the Middle High German word "wuosti" (= barren, undeveloped, empty). The place name therefore refers to an undeveloped area near which there was a bridge.

The place originally belonged to the Lords of Eyb von Eybburg . On April 17, 1611, the Margrave of Ansbach bought the place from Veit Erasmus von Eyb . According to the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, Höfen and Wüstenbruck formed a municipality. Six teams were specified for Wüstenbruck. All properties (two courtyards, two estates, one little estate, one little house) had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as the landlord . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

At the end of the 18th century there were six properties in Wüstenbruck (3 courtyards, 2 Gütlein, 1 Köblergut ). The court office of Ansbach continued to exercise the high court, the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties. In addition to the property, there were also communal buildings (shepherd's house, breaker's house ). At that time there were 8 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Wüstenbruck was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
