Höllmühle (colloquially: "Helmíl", also called Obermühle) is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Höllmühlbach , a left tributary of the Altmühl . The forest area Im Forst borders in the southeast, about 0.75 km to the northwest rises the Rotenberg ( 463  m above sea level ), about 0.5 km southwest of the Kronberg. A community road leads to Oberdombach (0.6 km northeast) or to state road 2249 near Neunstetten (1.2 km southwest).

history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1572 as "Hellmul" meaning Zur Mühle in the valley gorge .

Towards the end of the 18th century the Höllmühle belonged to Oberdombach . The mill had the caste office Herrieden of the Hochstift Eichstätt as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Höllmühle was given house number 21 in Oberdombach. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1800) the place is described as follows:

“ Höllmühle, Eichstättische, belonging to the Ober- and Vogtamte Wahrberg Aurach, between Neunstetten, where it is parish, and Oberdombach on a brook that rises from a pond and soon joins the Altmühl. The mill is counted at Oberdombach, has to do the unwilling service to Wahrberg and then have the Endten goose stables cleaned. "

As part of the community edict, Höllmühle was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into Ansbach in the course of the regional reform on July 1, 1972.
