history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1387 as "zu den hofen". The present form "courtyards" has been documented since the 17th century.

The place originally belonged to the Lords of Eyb von Eybburg . On April 17, 1611, the Margrave of Ansbach bought the place from Veit Erasmus von Eyb . According to the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, Höfen and Wüstenbruck formed a municipality. 6 teams are listed for courtyards. All properties (2 courtyards, 2 estates, 1 Gütlein, 1 Köblersgut ) had the Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 8 properties in Höfen (2 half courtyards, 1 estate, 2 small farms, 1 Köblergut, 1 tavern , 1 empty house ). The court office of Ansbach continued to exercise the high court, the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties. There were 7 subject families. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Höfen was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
