geography

The wasteland lies on the Silberbach, a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat . In the northwest is the Weiherleiten corridor, in the south the Hardtfeld. A residential road leads to Deßmannsdorf (0.7 km to the west) or to a community road (0.3 km to the east) that leads to Höfstetten (0.2 km to the north) or to Brodswinden (0.7 km to the south-east).

history

The mill was built in 1720 by the farmer Johann Georg Horn and named after the Huguenot religious refugee Louis Godofray, who bought it in 1722. In 1731 he sold it to his son-in-law Johann Caspar Schneider.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Louismühle belonged to Deßmannsdorf . The mill had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Louismühle received the number 12 of the place Deßmannsdorf when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Louismühle was assigned to the Brodswinden tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden, founded in 1811 .

On September 20, 1860 Louismühle was umgemeindet in the newly formed Bernhardswinden community . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .

The property has been operated as a horse farm since 2002.
