Windmühle (colloquially: "Windmil") is a district of the independent city of Ansbach , Middle Franconia .

geography

The Käferbuck lies around 0.5 km west of the village, and the Geißäcker around 0.75 km south-east. The Käferbach, a left tributary of the Altmühl, flows south of the village . The place is on the state road 1066 between Elpersdorf (1.7 km east) and Neunstetten (3 km southwest).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1809 and was originally a wasteland with an inn.

As part of the community edict, Windmühle was assigned to the Elpersdorf tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Elpersdorf, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the city of Ansbach on July 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
