In the southwest the wood field begins, in the southeast the Schellenholz. To the west lies the Hardtfeld, to the south the midfield, approx. 0.5 km east the Göttelhoffeld. The core town is surrounded by four industrial areas and has grown together with the neighboring towns of Wallersdorf and Wolfartswinden .

history

911 was created by King Conrad I. on the Diet of Forchheim decided Apply from the main area of the St. Gumbertuskloster Ansbach assign. These were settled in a ring around Ansbach in the 10th century. The basic word “–winds” shows that this place is such a Wendensiedlung. In 1240 the place was first mentioned by name as "Gozbrehtes winds". The defining word of the place name is the Slavic personal name Gozbreht. A person of this name was probably the head of this settler community. It was not until the 1430s that the name of the place got its current form "Protzwinds" through blurring.

The first chapel was located on the so-called Wendelsbuck and was dedicated to St. Wendelin . In the 15th century a church dedicated to St. Bartholomew was built in the center of the village. Remains of the Wendelin chapel were built into the choir, and the hall construction followed from 1556. Until 1467, Brodswinden belonged to the original parish of Saxony near Ansbach.

In the 16th century, Brodswinden became known nationwide for its medicinal bath. The water should help against scabies and gout. However, an investigation in 1936 found that the water was perfectly normal drinking water. The barrel-vaulted well room on the Wendelinsbuck has been preserved today. At the beginning of the 19th century, discarded crutches were evidence of this in the area.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 19 teams were recorded for Brodswinden: Seven properties were subordinate to the Hofkastenamt Ansbach , one property to the Abbey Office Ansbach , one property of the Imperial City of Nuremberg , one property to the Eichstättischen Kastenamt Herrieden and nine properties of the parish Brodswinden . The high court and the village and community authority exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach.

At the end of the 18th century there were 28 properties in Brodswinden. The court box office in Ansbach continued to exercise the high court and the village and community rule. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach (27 properties; Hofkastenamt Ansbach: 2 courtyards, 1 half courtyard, 2 quarter courtyards, 4 Söldengüter , 1 Söldengut with baking rights, 5 empty houses , 1 Mühgut, 1 smithy; Ansbach Abbey: 1 Söldengut; Parish Brodswinden: 8 goods, 1 estate) and the Herrieden caste office (1 estate). In addition to these properties, there were also ecclesiastical buildings (church, rectory) and communal buildings (schoolhouse, shepherd's house). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In 1806 Brodswinden came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict was in 1808 the tax district formed Brodswinden to the Bernhard winds , Brodswinden, Brodswindener mill , Deßmannsdorf , Gösselsdorf , hammer mill , Höfstetten , Höfstetter mill , Louis mill , Meinhard winds , Oberrammersdorf , Ratzenwinden , Silbermühle , Wallersdorf , Upper and Lower Walkmühle and Wolfartswinden belonged. The rural community Brodswinden was founded in 1811 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subordinate to the Ansbach Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and to the Ansbach Rent Office ( renamed Ansbach Tax Office in 1920 ). In the period that followed, the rural community of Brodswinden split up:

  • August 10, 1836: Formation of the rural community Ratzenzüge with Oberrammersdorf, Upper and Lower Fulling Mill,
  • September 20, 1860: Formation of the rural community Bernhardswinden with Louismühle, Meinhardswinden and Deßmannsdorf.
  • From then on, only Brodswindermühle, Gösseldorf, Höfstetten, Höfstettermühle, Hammerschmiede, Silbermühle, Wallersdorf and Wolfartswinden belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden.

From 1862 on, Brodswinden was administered by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court of Ansbach until 1870, 1870-1879 city and district court Ansbach , since 1880 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 8,492 km².

In the 1950s the silver mill was stopped.

On July 1, 1972, Brodswinden and its districts were incorporated into Ansbach as part of the regional reform . The area on which the silver mill stood was incorporated into Saxony near Ansbach .
