history

The place was first mentioned in 1240 as "Rumolsdorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name "Rûmolt". A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement. Arbitrary alignment with the place name of the neighboring Unterrottmannsdorf resulted in the form “Rodmarsdorf” in 1303 and finally “Rammerßdorff” from 1504. The form "Ober Rammersdorff" has only been attested since 1732.

In 1254, Ludwig von Wizelsdorf and Rudiger von Hengersbach renounced their right of inheritance to goods in Oberrammersdorf in favor of the Gumbertus Foundation in Ansbach. In 1403 the knight Friedrich von Heideck and his son Johannes sold seven goods to the Gumbertuss pen.

In the description of the office of the Nuremberg nursing office in Lichtenau from 1748, there were 8 subject families in Oberrammersdorf, one of which belonged to the main team of Saxony.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were twelve properties and a community shepherd's house in Oberrammersdorf. The High Court exercised the Brandenburg-ansbachische Hofkastenamt Ansbach from that village and township government had the pen Office Ansbach held. The landlords were the Ansbach Abbey (1 courtyard, 7 half-courtyards, 1 quarter courtyard, 1 estate, 1 smithy) and the Nuremberg owner von Stromer (1 estate). There were eleven subject families at the time, ten of whom were Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Oberrammersdorf was assigned to the Brodswinden tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden, founded in 1811 . On August 10, 1836, Oberrammersdorf was renamed into the newly formed municipality of Ratzenzüge . This was dissolved on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform. Oberrammersdorf was incorporated into the market Lichtenau.
