Unterrottmannsdorf (colloquially: Und ə ram ə schdorf ) is a district of the market Lichtenau in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Moosbach, which is a left tributary of the Zandtbach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat , flows through the church village . The Neubruch corridor is 0.5 km to the northeast . The district road AN 14 leads to Oberrammersdorf (1.5 km west) or past the Gotzen and Erlenmühle to Wattenbach (3 km east). Communal roads lead to Weidenmühle (0.7 km southeast) and AN 1 (1.2 km north).

history

The place was first mentioned in a document in 1303 in the Würzburger Lehenbuch as "Rodmarsdorf". The defining word of the place name is probably the Slavic personal name Rodimir, which can be considered the founder of the settlement. 1304 it is mentioned in a deed of donation as "Rodma [r] storff", in which Konrad Rolse bequeathed his goods to the brothers of the German House of Eschenbach. In 1342 it is mentioned as "Rodmanstorf".

In 1403 Friedrich von Heideck sold his estate in Unterrottmannsdorf to the Gumbertuss monastery in Ansbach. The Church of Saxony also sold its property there to the monastery in 1451. In 1434 Siegmund von Leonrod gave the monastery two estates in addition to a large and small tithe in exchange for other properties near Leonrod . In 1499, the heirs of Peter Betz sold their estate and inheritance, including all affiliations, to the monastery.

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg Nursing Office Lichtenau from 1515, 12 subject families are specified for Unterrottmannsdorf: 3 subjects were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg, 1 subject to the priest of Amberg, 1 subject to the municipal bailiff's office in Eschenbach , 5 subjects to the Gumbertuss pen and for 2 other subjects no information about which landlord was given they were subject to.

During the Thirty Years' War the place was badly devastated, among other things, all the courtyards of the Gumbertus monastery were deserted.

In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Office from 1748, there were 13 subject families in the village, one of which belonged to the main team of Saxony.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 14 properties and a community shepherd's house in Unterrottmannsdorf, including the Weidenmühle. The high court was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office. A municipality Lord , the village had not. The landlords were the Principality of Ansbach ( Stiftsamt Ansbach : 4 estates, Hofkastenamt Ansbach : 1 courtyard), the Stadtvogteiamt Eschenbach (2 courtyards, 2 half courtyards, 1 estate), the Nursing Authority Lichtenau (1 small estate with forge) and the Ansbach owner von Förster (1 Courtyard, 1 half courtyard, 1 mill).

The dialectic blurring of the place name to "Ram ə schdorf" made it necessary to differentiate it from the dialect of Oberrammersdorf . In 1856 it was called Rottmannsdorf in the “Statistical Handbook and Address Book of Middle Franconia in the Kingdom of Bavaria”, and in 1867 it was named Unterrottmannsdorf for the first time in the “Topographical-statistical handbook of the Kingdom of Bavaria”.

In 1806 Unterrottmansdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Unterrottmannsdorf was assigned to the Saxony tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Unterrottmannsdorf with Weidenmühle , Zandt and Zandtmühle broke away from Saxony and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Unterrottmannsdorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 5.981 km². In the course of the regional reform , this was incorporated into Lichtenau on January 1, 1972.

The place has been Protestant since the Reformation. In 1950 a church was built on a piece of land donated by Georg Schiefer. Although the Christ Church is actually a branch church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Alban (Saxony near Ansbach) , the service is held every two weeks by professors and lecturers from the Augustana University in Neuendettelsau . In return, the university receives annual thanksgiving from the village.

The inhabitants of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Johannes (Lichtenau) .
