history

The place was first mentioned by name in 1512 as "Schnockenhoff" with the meaning of courtyard, where there are many mosquitoes, and in 1515 as "to the Weyckershof" with the meaning of the court of Wighard . The original place name is likely to have been the latter, but in the dialect the mock name has prevailed.

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg nursing office Lichtenau from 1515 a service farmer with 6 days of meadow work is recorded for the place . In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the main team of Saxony. There was 1 subject family. Towards the end of the 18th century there were two half courtyards in Weickershof. The high court and the manorial power exercised the Lichtenau nursing office.

As part of the community edict, Weickershof was assigned to the Lichtenau tax district formed in 1808 . He also belonged to the rural community of Lichtenau , which was founded in 1810 . In 1818 Boxbrunn submitted an application to form a separate community with Weickershof and Stritthof , but this was rejected.
