history

The place was first mentioned in 1245 as "Imeldorf". The final word of the place name is the personal name "I (r) milo", a diminutive of the Germanic personal name Immo . A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of this settlement.

The place was founded at the latest at the beginning of the 11th century (a year engraved in the church tower is 1011), but probably already in the early Middle Ages between the 8th and 10th centuries. Immeldorf is one of the oldest settlements in the Rezat Valley. The chaplaincy Immeldorf, which belonged to the parish of Saxony, is also listed in the privilege of the Würzburg bishop Herold of 1168 . From 1265 the Counts of Dornberg had sovereignty over the place, from 1404 to 1806 it was the imperial city of Nuremberg . The monastery Heilsbronn got under the thorn bergischen Testament in 1298, a gap , in 1351 through a donation by Götz Ribranst an estate.

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg nursing office in Lichtenau from 1515, 38 subject families are given for Immeldorf: 25 subjects were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg, 2 subjects to the Heilsbronn monastery and 11 subjects to the Lords of Eyb zu Vestenberg .

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn monastery office from 1608, Immeldorf was given 1 Köbler , who was subordinate to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office. The other landlords are not listed. During the Thirty Years' War the place was largely depopulated, after which at least 180 exiles from Austria settled.

In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the Immeldorf main team. There were 39 subject families, of which 26 were from Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 42 properties in Immeldorf in addition to church buildings (parish church, rectory) and communal buildings (school house, cowherd's house, ox herder's house, goose herd house). The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office. Were landlords

In 1806 Immeldorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the Immeldorf tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Bachmühle , Bechhofen , Büschelbach , Immeldorf, Kirschendorf , Malmersdorf , Neuses , Schlauersbach , Waltendorf and Wernsbach belonged. The rural community Immeldorf was founded in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . With the second community edict in 1818, the rural community Immeldorf was split into

  • Rural community Bechhofen;
  • Rural community Immeldorf;
  • Malmersdorf rural community with Büschelbach and Waltendorf;
  • Rural community Schlauersbach with Bachmühle and cherry village;
  • Rural community of Wernsbach with Neuses.

From 1862 to 1879 Immeldorf was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Ansbach district office (renamed the Ansbach district in 1938 ) and the Heilsbronn rent office (1920–1929: Heilsbronn tax office , from 1929: Ansbach tax office ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, 1880–1956 district court Heilsbronn , since 1956 district court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 4.555 km². In the course of the municipal reform , Immeldorf was incorporated into Lichtenau on April 1, 1971.
