history

The place was originally called "Ronhof" or "Ranhof". 1476 was "Rohnhof" a fief of the lords of Vestenberg which thus 1473/74 the Nuremberg citizen Peter Volckamer mortgaged. On November 9, 1476, Hans von Eyb zu Vestenberg acquired the "Rohen Hof" from Peter Volckamer. By swapping with Stefan von Vestenberg at a farm in Bernhardswinden , Hans von Eyb also became the lord of the farm. During the Thirty Years' War the farm became deserted. In 1649 Hans Christoph von Eyb had the farm built into a mansion. In 1678 the property was first referred to as “Frohnhof”, probably based on the Middle High German word “vrôn” (= gentleman). The Frohnhof manor was not built until 1724.

In the Oberamtsbeschreibung of the Principality of Ansbach by Johann Georg Vetter from 1732, the place is described as follows: “Fronhoff, a farm belonging to Herr von Eyb, together with the 2nd next to Güthlein, are pastors to Vestenberg, but belong with the easy [= burial ] equal to Vestenberg to the parish of Haßlach. The Vogthey belongs to Herr von Eyb, the Hochfraischl. high authorities, however, the local upper and caste office Anßpach. "

At the end of the 18th century there were five households in Frohnhof. The high court exercised the manor Frohnhof to a limited extent. If necessary, it had to be delivered to the Ansbach court box office in Brandenburg-Ansbach . The manor Frohnhof held the village and community rulership. All estates had the manor Frohnhof as landlord . In addition to the households, there were manorial buildings, the servant's apartment and the forester's house. The manor Frohnhof belonged to the knight canton of Altmühl . It also held village and community rulership over Frankendorf , Langenloh and Wustendorf , and the manorial rule over a total of 60 properties, which were distributed in the following places (the number of properties is given in brackets): Adelmannsdorf (4), Bernhardswinden (1) , Eyb (5), Frankendorf (7), Frohnhof (5), Immeldorf (6), Kaltengreuth (2), Kleinhaslach (1), Külbingen (12), Langenloh (4), Malmersdorf (1), Rückersdorf (1) , Schönbronn (1), Weiherhof (1) and Wustendorf (9). Even after the secularization (1803) the manor Frohnhof held the patrimonial court over its property until 1836 .

From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach . There were four subject families at that time.

As part of the municipal edict, Frohnhof was assigned to the Vestenberg tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Vestenberg, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the community of Petersaurach on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform .
