Schafhof (colloquially: Schofhṹf ) is a district of the community Petersaurach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet forms a closed settlement with Vestenberg to the west and lies on a hill. The Boxberg ( 429  m above sea level ) is located a little to the east . A community road leads to Vestenberg (0.2 km northwest) or to the district road AN 10 north of Wicklesgreuth (0.9 km south).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1732 as "Vestenberger Schafhof".

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Schafhof belonged to Vestenberg. He had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Vogtamt Vestenberg as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792-1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, Schafhof was given house numbers 30 and 31 of the village of Vestenberg. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Schafhof was assigned to the Vestenberg tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Vestenberg, founded in 1811 . This was incorporated into the community of Petersaurach on May 1, 1978 as part of the regional reform .

The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Laurentius (Vestenberg) . The residents of the Roman Catholic denomination were originally parish to Our Lady (Heilsbronn) , since 1992 they have been parish to St. Franziskus (Neuendettelsau) .
