history

The place was first mentioned in 1166 as "Langenloch". The place name means at the elongated wood .

The Heilsbronn Monastery acquired an estate there before 1249 . In addition, the gentlemen von Heideck were wealthy in the village. In 1435 they sold their property - including 1 farm and 2 goods in Langenloh - to Martin von Eyb .

In the Salbuch of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1515, 6 subject families are specified for Langenloh: 1 subject was subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg , 1 subject to the Heilsbronn monastery, 1 subject to Albert Linck zu Schwabach and 3 subjects to the Lords of Eyb .

In the 16-point report of the Brandenburg-Ansbach monastery office in Heilsbronn from 1608, only the farm is given for Langenloh, which was subordinate to the Heilsbronn monastery administration office. The properties of other landlords are not listed.

In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the main team of Saxony. There were 6 subject families, two of which were from Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were eight properties and a shepherd's house belonging to the municipality in Langenloh. The high court exercised the Lichtenau nursing office of the imperial city of Nuremberg, the village and community rulership was held by the manor Frohnhof of the Lords of Eyb . The landlords were the manor Frohnhof (3 half courtyards, 1 estate), the Heilsbronn monastery administration office (1 courtyard), the Immeldorf church (1 inn) and the Nuremberg owner von Stromer (1 courtyard).

As part of the municipal edict, Langenloh was assigned to the Saxony tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Langenloh was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Herpersdorf . This was dissolved on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform. Langenloh was incorporated into Petersaurach.
