The Untere Walkmühle (colloquially: Und ə r Walkmil ) is a district of the municipality of Saxony near Ansbach in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Büchenbach, a right tributary of the Franconian Rezat . It is on the north by Seeholz and south from Bergholz surrounded. Approx. The Seeholzäcker are 0.5 km to the northeast . A communal road leads to Steinbach (1.2 km north) or past the Upper Walkmühle to Ratzenimmern (0.8 km south).

history

The mill was built in 1719 and is mentioned for the first time in the descriptions of the principality of Ansbach by Johann Georg Vetter from 1732 as "Walck Mühl". When the mill, which was built about 500 meters upstream, was also used for milling in 1746 , the distinction between lower and upper fulling mill became established. B. 1809 documented as "lower Walckmühle". In addition, both mills were called "Ratzenwinderwalkmühle" (1818) and "Razenwinderswalkmühlen" (1832). Nothing is left of the original mill today.

Towards the end of the 18th century, the Lower Fulling Mill belonged to Ratzenzüge. She had the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach as landlord . Under the Prussian administration (1792–1806) of the Principality of Ansbach, the Untere Walkmühle received the number 11 of the village Ratzenzüge when the house numbers were assigned. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, the Ratzenwinderwalkmühlen were assigned to the Brodswinden tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Brodswinden, founded in 1811 .

On August 10th, 1836, the Ratzenwinderwalkmühlen were changed to the newly formed community of Ratzenzüge . This was incorporated into the municipality of Saxony near Ansbach on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform .
