Rutzenmühle is a mill belonging to the district of Rutzendorf in the municipality of Saxony near Ansbach in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The wasteland lies on the Franconian Rezat . A residential path leads 130 meters east to a communal road that runs to State Road 2223 (0.2 km north) or to Rutzendorf (0.3 km south).

history

The mill has always belonged to Rutzendorf. In 1515 Hans Rutzenmüller was named as the owner of the mill. As a result of the 30 Years War, the Rutzenmühle burned down. In 1636 it was rebuilt by Hans Apel. Another fire occurred at the beginning of the 19th century. It was rebuilt in 1803. Originally it was a grain mill with an attached sawmill, today it is used to generate electricity.

Towards the end of the 18th century there was a household in Rutzenmühle. The high court and the manorial power exercised the Lichtenau nursing office . When the house numbers were assigned at the beginning of the 19th century, the property was given numbers 1 and 2 for the town of Rutzendorf.

As part of the municipal edict, Rutzenmühle was assigned to the tax district of Saxony formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Rutzenmühle was renamed into the newly formed rural community of Volkersdorf . After 1885, the Rutzenmühle is no longer explicitly mentioned as a district. On April 1, 1971, before the regional reform , it was incorporated into Saxony.
