history

The place was first mentioned in the Würzburger Lehenbuch from 1303 as "Ruzzendorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Ruzzo. A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement. In the same year Gottfried von Heideck received bailiwick rule over the place as an episcopal fief, Gottfried von Feldbrecht received two estates as an episcopal fief. The Gumbertuss pen also seemed to have claims in the village, as can be seen from a document from around 1400 in which the farm owner Hans Walder was obliged to deliver four Metzen grains to the monastery every year . In 1406 Friedrich von Heideck sold his possessions, which also included Rutzendorf, to the imperial city of Nuremberg .

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg nursing office Lichtenau from 1515, 10 subject families are given for Rutzendorf with mill, all of which were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg. In 1539 the Brandenburg-Ansbach Hofkastenamt Ansbach acquired an estate from Wolf Wurm in Gunzenhausen.

As a result of the 30-year war , the entire place became deserted.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Ansbach from 1684, 12 teams are recorded for Rutzendorf with Mühle: 1 property was subordinate to the court box office of Ansbach and 11 properties to the care office of Lichtenau. The high court was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office.

In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the main team of Saxony. There were 12 subject families, of which 11 were from Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties in Rutzendorf and an ox and a cow shepherd's house, both communal buildings. The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office. The landlords were the Lichtenau nursing office (2 farms, 4 half farms, 2 estates, 1 little farm, 1 mill , 1 tavern , 1 empty building ) and the Ansbach farmyard office (1 farm).

As part of the community edict, Rutzendorf was assigned to the tax district of Saxony formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Rutzendorf was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Volkersdorf . On April 1, 1971, before the regional reform , it was incorporated into Saxony.
