history

The village was first mentioned by name in 1450 as "Wilmannsdorff". The defining word of the place name is the personal name "Willmann". A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of this settlement.

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg nursing office Lichtenau from 1515 3 subject families are specified for Milmersdorf, all of which were subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg.

In the official description of the Lichtenau nursing office from 1748, the place is part of the main team of Saxony. There were 3 subject families, all of them from Nuremberg (Landesalmosenamt: 1, Mendelsche Twelve Brothers Foundation : 1, St. Klara Monastery Office : 1).

Towards the end of the 18th century there were also three properties and a shepherd's house belonging to the municipality in Milmersdorf. The high court and the village and community rulership was exercised by the Lichtenau nursing office. The imperial city of Nuremberg had the basic rule over all properties (state alms office: 1 yard, Mendelsche Twelve Brothers Foundation: 1 yard, St. Klara monastery office: 1 yard).

In 1806 Milmersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Milmersdorf was assigned to the tax district of Saxony, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Saxony, founded in 1810 .
