Friedrich IV. (Nuremberg)
Friedrich IV of Nuremberg (* 1287 (or later); † May 19, 1332 ) was Burgrave of Nuremberg from the House of Hohenzollern .
Life
Friedrich was the son of Burgrave Friedrich III. and Helene of Saxony. He took over the burgrave office when his older brother Johann I died in 1300 after only three years of reign. Frederick IV lost the battle of Lucka on May 31, 1307 as a royal military leader in a dispute between Albrecht I of the House of Habsburg and the Margrave of Meißen Frederick the bitten , also known as Frederick the Freidige and the Margrave of Lausitz , Dietrich IV .
In 1322 the burgrave decided the battle of Mühldorf by means of a successfully carried out ambush and took the Habsburg counter-king Friedrich the fair of Austria prisoner. As a result he received the Bergregal in his territory from Ludwig the Bavarian . In 1331 Frederick IV acquired the city of Ansbach for the Hohenzollern family by purchase. Friedrich died a year later, his successor was his and his wife Margarethe's son Johann II.
