Höfstetten is a district of the city of Herrieden in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The hamlet is located on the Schreinermühlbach, a left tributary of the Altmühl . In the west lie the forest areas Steinlach and Pfaffenholz, in the south the Flur Bauernfeind, approx. 0.5 km east the Rote Berg rises. A community connecting road leads to Seebronn (0.9 km east) or to a community connecting road (0.15 km west) that runs to Hohenberg (1.8 km south) and Dautenwind (1 km north).

history

The place was founded in the 13th century.

The Heilsbronn monastery came to a meadow there in 1370 through a gift from Fritz Buckel. In 1401 a little estate was added, which Konrad Marschall zu Pappenheim sold to the monastery.

In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1800) the place is described as follows:

“ Höfstetten, bey Seebronn, a hamlet in the former Oberamte Ansbach, makes up a parish with Seebronn, is part of the Herrieder St. Martinskirche, and is a little hour northeast of Ansbach. There are only 3 subjects in it, two of which belong to the Ober- and Stadtvogteyamte Wahrberg Herrieden . "

From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach . As part of the municipal edict, Höfstetten was assigned to the Rauenzell tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Rauenzell , which was founded a little later . With the second community edict (1818) Höfstetten was transferred to Hohenberg .

On July 1, 1971, Höfstetten was incorporated into Herrieden as part of the regional reform .

The place remained Catholic even after the Reformation. The residents of the Roman Catholic denomination are parish to St. Vitus and Deocar (Herrieden) , the residents of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Laurentius (Elpersdorf near Ansbach) .
