history
The place was probably founded in the 10th century, to which the final word of the place name - the personal name Regemanus - refers. The place is popularly known as "Hinterbergerweiler".
In the geographical statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1801) the place is described as follows:
“ Regmannsdorf, Eichstättischer, still in the petrified Eichstättische Fraisch, but already in the margravial Ansbachian high authority hamlet. Eichstätt has the municipal glory and the shepherd's staff, but the princely tax office of the Herrieden collegiate monastery has 4 subjects. He makes up a community with the hamlet of Schernbach; Both have only one shepherd together and are half an hour north-east of Herrieden, on the Martinsberg, over the St. Martin's Church, towards the Bergenweiler. "
As part of the community edict, Regmannsdorf was assigned to the Herrieden tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the municipality of Herrieden , which was founded a little later . With the second community edict (1818) Regmannsdorf was transferred to Hohenberg .
On July 1, 1971 Regmannsdorf was incorporated into Herrieden as part of the regional reform .
