Velden is a district of the city of Herrieden in the Ansbach district in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Schreinermühlbach, a left tributary of the Altmühl . In the north the Rösgraben flows into the Schreinermühlbach as a right and in the south the Ölgraben as a left tributary. In the north-east lies the Am Judenweg corridor, behind which lies the Kappelbuck in the Steinbachforst. In the southwest lies the Dörrlein corridor area, approx. 1 km northwest lies the Schulberg ( 429  m above sea level ). The district road AN 55 leads to Thann (1.3 km south) or to Rauenzell to state road 2249 (1.1 km north). A community road leads to people book (1.4 km to the west).

history

The place was in the Fraisch district of the Oberamt Ansbach . The village and community rulership was held by the Eichstättische Stadtvogteiamt Herrieden . Towards the end of the 18th century there were ten subject families, four of whom had the Herrieden caste office as their landlord and four of them the Sommersdorf manor of the Lords of Crailsheim . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Velden was assigned to the Rauenzell tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Rauenzell , which was founded a little later . On July 1, 1971, Velden was incorporated into Herrieden as part of the regional reform .

  • Hirtenwasen: wayside cross, cast iron cross on sandstone base, late 19th century; approx. 300 meters west of Velden, on the road to Herrieden

religion

The place was originally purely Catholic and after the Visitation of the Virgin Mary (Rauenzell) parish. The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination were originally parish to Sommersdorf and are now parish in the Christ Church (Herrieden) .

    This hamlet is an hour southeast of Herrieden in the Altmühlgrunde, not far from this river near Rauenzell between Leitenbuch and Winkel near the manorial forest called Steinbach.
    Velden belonged to the estate in Sualefeld, which the archdeacon and provost Heysso of Herrieden inherited and donated to the collegiate monastery there in 1058. "
