history

The place was founded in the 12th century and named after the nearby bridge over the Altmühl. In 1802 there were 16 households in the place, all of which were subordinate to the Eichstättischen Oberamt Wahrberg-Herrieden . With the community edict (early 19th century), Stegbruck was assigned to the Heuberg tax district . A little later the rural community of Stegbruck was formed. It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . In 1840 at the latest, Stegbruck was assigned to the rural community of Heuberg.

On July 1, 1971, Stegbruck was incorporated into Herrieden as part of the regional reform .
