geography
The Heuberger Mühlbach flows through the village, which is a right tributary of the Michelswieser Bach , which in turn is a right tributary of the Altmühl . In the south there is a small wooded hill, otherwise the place is surrounded by a flat hilly plain, which consists of grassland with isolated trees and arable land.
Municipal roads lead to Lattenbuch (2.2 km southwest), to the district road AN 37 near Brünst (1 km north) and the state road 2248 and district road AN 54 crossing to Manndorf (1.7 km east).
history
In the 13th century, Heuberg was an office of the Herriedener Kollegiatstift . In 1538, the Eichstätt Bishop Christoph von Pappenheim bought Johann Knorz, a Herriedener canon who inherited the office, for 500 florins. In 1800 there were 20 households in Heuberg, all of which were subordinate to the Eichstättischen Vogtamt Wahrberg-Aurach.
With the community edict (early 19th century), the tax district Heuberg was formed, to which the places Brünst , Lammelbach , Leibelbach , Manndorf , Sauerbach , Schönau , Stegbruck and Winn belonged. A little later, the rural community of Heuberg was formed with Brünst . It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . In 1840 at the latest, the previously independent rural community of Stegbruck Heuberg was assigned. The community had an area of 6.020 km². As part of the regional reform in Bavaria, this was incorporated into Herrieden on July 1, 1971.
