history

The place name is derived from an identical water body name. If the defining word of the name of the water is actually derived from the Alemannic word “lobel” (= good lord), the establishment of the place would have to be dated to the Carolingian period (8th / 9th century).

In 1801 there were six households in the village, all of which were subject to the Eichstätt monastery .

With the Gemeindeedikt (early 19th century). Leibelbach belonged to the Rural Municipality Lammelbach . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Herrieden on July 1, 1971.
