Steinbach is a district of the city of Herrieden in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on the Steinbach, which flows 0.5 km to the northwest as a left tributary into the Käferbach , which in turn is a left tributary of the Altmühl . The Buckfeld borders in the east, the Schmalwiesen in the west and the Steinbacher Holz in the south. Municipal roads lead to the Käfermühle (0.5 km north), to Neunstetten to State Road 2249 (1.8 km to the east) and via Esbach to State Road 2248 (1.5 km to the east).

history

In 1732 there were four households in the village, all the eichstättische collegiate Herrieden as primary and community Lord had. The Fraisch exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach Oberamt Ansbach . Towards the end of the 18th century there were five households, all of which were subject to the princely tax office of the Herrieden collegiate monastery. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the municipal edict, the Neunstetten tax district was formed in 1808 , to which Steinbach also belonged. The place also belonged to the rural community of Neunstetten, which was founded a little later . As part of the regional reform , Steinbach was incorporated into Herrieden on January 1, 1972.

  • House No. 17: old seat, stable building built around 1800. Ground floor framework of 4 to 3 axes. Two gable storeys, gable roof. Uninhabited.
  • House number 25: old seat. Similar to the previous one, only 3 to 3 axles. Uninhabited.

The place was originally purely Catholic and parish to St. Veit (Neunstetten) . The inhabitants of the Evangelical Lutheran denomination are parish to St. Laurentius (Elpersdorf near Ansbach) .
