Mühlbruck is a district of the city of Herrieden in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The hamlet is on the left bank of the Altmühl . Beyond the Altmühl lies the Im Mühlgrund corridor. The state road 2249 leading to Herrieden (1.3 km east) and after Neunstetten (2.8 km to the north).

history

Originally Mühlbruck was an allod of the Barons von Seckendorff . In 1394 Sigmund von Seckendorff sold his inheritance consisting of a mill with fish water, Hofraite, Hofstatt and Wiesfleck for 1400 pounds Heller to the Eichstätter Bishop Friedrich IV. Von Oettingen , a few years later Eleonore von Seckendorff her inheritance consisting of a farm and its affiliations for 560 Gulden also to the bishop of Eichstätt. In 1801 the place consisted of two farms, a mill and a shepherd's house. All properties were subject to the Eichstättischen Stadtvogteiamt Herrieden .

With the community edict (early 19th century), Mühlbruck was assigned to the tax district and the municipal community of Herrieden.

The place was originally purely Catholic. The Catholics are parish to St. Vitus and Deocar (Herrieden) to this day , the Protestants are parish in the Christ Church (Herrieden) .
