The district court of Herrieden was a Bavarian district court of the older order that existed from 1808 to 1879 and was based in Herrieden in today's district of Ansbach .

The district court Herrieden bordered to the north by the District Court of Ansbach , in the northwest on the district court Leutershausen , on the west by the district court Feuchtwangen , on the south by the district court Wassertrüdingen , on the east by the district court Gunzenhausen and on the northeast by the district court Heilsbronn .

In the Kingdom of Bavaria , the regional courts were judicial and administrative authorities, which were replaced in administrative matters by the district offices in 1862 and in legal matters by the local courts in 1879 .

In 1808 the Herrieden district court was established in the course of the administrative restructuring of Bavaria . This was added to the Rezatkreis , whose capital was Ansbach .

The official seat of the regional court was in the building Vogteiplatz 11 in Herrieden.

The district court was divided into 14 tax districts, which were administered by the Herrieden Rent Office:

In 1818 there were 10,860 residents in the Herrieden district court, who were divided into 2,632 families and lived in 2,562 properties.

Before 1840 the following changes were made:

  • Winterschneidbach to Claffheim
  • the communities Esbach and Weiherschneidbach to Leidendorf
  • the community of Dierersdorf to Neuses
  • the municipality of Obermühl to Gern
  • the community of Stegbruck to Heuberg

In 1840 the Herrieden district court was 3 14 square miles in size. There were 12061 inhabitants, of which 7657 were Catholics and 4258 Protestants and 146 Jews. There were 95 localities: 2 cities, 4 markets, 7 parish villages , 1 church village , 35 villages , 34 hamlets and 12 wastelands . There were a total of 30 municipalities: 1 magistrate 3rd class, 1 market municipality and 29 rural municipalities:
