history

In 1398 the Heilsbronn monastery received five goods there through exchange with Burkhard von Wolmarshausen , who was given goods in Burkelbach near Crailsheim in return.

Weidendorf was in the Fraisch district of the Eichstättischen Oberamt Wahrberg-Herrieden . The manor Thann of the Lords of Crailsheim exercised the village and community rule . The landlords were the manor Thann, Brandenburg-Ansbach and the Eichstättische Kastenamt Herrieden (two properties).

With the community edict (early 19th century) Weidendorf was assigned to the tax district and the rural community of Großenried . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Weidendorf was incorporated into Bechhofen on July 1, 1971.
