Königshofen an der Heide (colloquially: Kinshoff ) is a district of the market Bechhofen in the district of Ansbach ( Bavaria ).

geography

The parish village is located on Ochsengraben , a left tributary of the Mühlgraben , which flows into the Wieseth from the right . The state road 2220 leading to Burk (4,5 km south-west) and after Bechhofen (km north 1.5). The district road AN 54 leads to Rohrbach (1.2 km north) or past the Weihermühle to Birkach (1.8 km east).

history

Before the Heilsbronn Monastery settled there, there were six manors : the Herrieden Monastery , the Counts of Truhendingen, the Lords of Dietenhofen and von Holzingen, the Margraves and the Lords of Seckendorff . The Marienmuenster Königshofen was a former pilgrimage church and was consecrated in 1396th In 1422 a monastery was founded by Katharina Knoll , also consecrated to Maria, and the Marienmünster became the monastery church. With the arrival of the Reformation , the monastery church became an Evangelical Lutheran parish church in 1565, which it still is today.
