Sachsbach is a district of the market Bechhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia ( Bavaria ).

geography

The Sachsbacher Graben, which is a left tributary of the Moosgraben, which in turn is a left tributary of the Wieseth , flows through the parish village . The place is surrounded by arable land and grassland with a few trees. In the north the corridor is called Hedelfeld, in the south Lohacker. Approx. 0.5 km to the west is the Weidlerholz, approx. 1 km to the east is the Obere Neuholz.

The district road AN 54 leads to Reichenau (1.7 km northwest) and crossing the state road 2222 to Waizendorf (2.7 km south). Communal roads lead to Deffersdorf (2.2 km to the west), to Kaudorf (1.3 km to the north) and to Liebersdorf (2 km to the east).

history

The place name was first mentioned in 1147 and 1150 as "Sahsbach" and "Sasbach" with the meaning of settlement on the swamp stream or swamp grass . It was mentioned in a deed of donation in which Count Rapoto von Abenberg gave the Heilsbronn monastery a . a. also gave goods in Sachsbach.

The church of St. Georg in Sachsbach was first mentioned in a letter of indulgence in 1342 as a branch of Beyerberg , but is probably older. Later St. Georg became a branch of the Marienmünster in Königshofen, and from 1902 finally a branch of the Johannis Church in Bechhofen.

Sachsbach was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 33 properties with 36 teams. There was also a church, a school and a communal shepherd's house. Were landlords

In 1806 Sachsbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century) the tax district Sachsbach was formed, to which the places Kallert , Kaudorf , Lettenmühle , Rangenmühle , Reichenau and Selingsdorf belonged. A little later, the rural community of Sachsbach was formed with the towns of Lettenmühle, Rangenmühle and Reichenau. It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of ​​9.087 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Bechhofen on July 1, 1971.
