history
In the first half of the 13th century the Heilsbronn monastery already owned goods in Waizendorf. In 1245 these were exchanged for Konrad and Rüdiger von Dietenhofen for two farms in Göddeldorf and Trachenhöfstatt . In 1249, the monastery again acquired goods in Waizendorf, including probably the castle there, which was the seat of the Waizendorf monastery bailiff until the monastery was dissolved. In 1320 Erkinger von Reichenau sold a meadow near Waizendorf, a piece of wood and the fishing water to the monastery. In 1331 and 1335 the mill in Waizendorf, meadows and five estates were added. In 1332 Konrad Steinheim sold a slope from an estate in Waizendorf to the monastery. In 1336 Konrad Ozenberger gave the monastery a slope, u. a. also in Waizendorf. In 1346 the monastery bought the meadow near Waizendorf.
In 1520/21 the then 26th Abbot Wenk had the castle renovated. After the death of the last abbot Melchior Wunder in 1578, the entire Waizendorf office fell to Margrave Georg Friedrich I of Ansbach .
In the Thirty Years War Waizendorf was not burned down in contrast to the neighboring villages, but still largely deserted.
Waizendorf was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 12 properties (1 grinding mill, 1 cutting mill, 5 courtyards, 1 small estate with forge, 1 small estate with cone management, 3 small estate) and a castle. The administration of Waizendorf held the village and community rulership and the lordship over all properties . Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .
In 1806 Waizendorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict at the beginning of the 19th century, Waizendorf was assigned to the tax district of Bechhofen . A little later the rural community Waizendorf was formed, to which Rohrbach belonged. It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 2,987 km². As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Bechhofen on January 1, 1974.
