history

In 1367 the Heilsbronn Monastery bought two fiefs from Volland Auracher there. In 1445 the monastery acquired an estate in Kaudorf through an exchange from Michael Veldbrechter.

Kaudorf was in the Fraisch district of the Eichstättischen Oberamt Wahrberg-Herrieden . Towards the end of the 18th century, the place consisted of 14 properties and a communal shepherd's house. The village and community rulership lay with the community itself. The landlords were the Herrieden caste office (11 properties) and the Herrieden monastery chapter (3 properties).

In 1806 Kaudorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . With the community edict (early 19th century) Kaudorf was assigned to the tax district Sachsbach . A little later the rural community Kaudorf was formed, to which the places Kallert and Selingsdorf belonged. It was subject to the Herrieden district court in terms of administration and jurisdiction . The municipality had an area of 4.837 km². In the course of the regional reform in Bavaria , this was incorporated into Bechhofen on July 1, 1971. This was preceded by a citizens' meeting in which it was voted whether the community should be incorporated into Bechhofen or Herrieden .
