Voggendorf is a district of the market Bechhofen in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The Bronnenwiesengraben flows through the village and flows into the Wieseth immediately to the south as a tributary on the left . The place lies on a flat hilly plain consisting of grassland with isolated trees and arable land. In the northwest the corridor is called Langer Morgen, in the northeast Heide and in the east Lämmerwasen. In the south beyond the meadow there is a nature reserve .

The district road AN 57 runs through the village , which leads to Wiesethbruck (1.1 km east) or to Fröschau to state road 2220 (1.6 km west). Communal roads run to Großenried (2.5 km north) and Burgstallmühle (0.5 km south).

history

Voggendorf was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Feuchtwangen . In 1732 the place consisted of 9 properties with 10 teams and a communal shepherd's house. The landlords were the Eichstättische Kastenamt Arberg-Ornbau (1 sheep farm with double crew, 1 Gütlein) and the manor Wiesethbruck der Schenken zu Geyern zu Syburg (1 farm, 6 Gütlein). Nothing in these conditions changed until the end of the Old Kingdom . From 1797 to 1808 the place was subordinate to the Justice and Chamber Office Feuchtwangen .

With the community edict (early 19th century) Voggendorf was assigned to the tax district Bechhofen and the rural community Wiesethbruck . As part of the regional reform in Bavaria , Voggendorf was incorporated into Bechhofen on October 1, 1971.

From 1945 to 1957 there was a camp for refugees from the former eastern regions and later also from Hungary , who lived in nine large barracks, two multi-purpose barracks and a provisional church on a former Wehrmacht area (airfield) . At times it was up to 1200 people. With the then population of Voggendorf - only approx. 80 inhabitants - conflicts were the order of the day. Today a large information wall in the center of the village reminds of the Voggendorf camp. Of the more than 1000 refugees, around 70% have found a new home in Bechhofen and the surrounding area. Every three years the big camp festival is celebrated in Voggendorf. Then the former residents from all over Germany meet again.
