The Briccius Chapel was built in the 12th century on the border between Groß- and Kleinbreitenbronn. The chapel was dedicated to Saint Briccius . Today there is only a ruined tower of the chapel. At the junction to Bammersdorf there was also a chapel dedicated to St. Stephen. It no longer stands today.

According to the Salbuch der Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg from 1343, the Eschenbach City Bailiwick in Großbreitenbronn owned 2 hubs , half a fiefdom, fields and wood.

The monastery Heilsbronn received his three estate.

In the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Vogtamt Merkendorf from 1616, 3 goods are specified for Großbreitenbronn that were subordinate to the Merkendorf administration office. The other landlords are not listed. The Merkendorf administrator's office alternated with the municipal bailiff's office in Eschenbach, exercising municipal law and shepherd's staff. The Fraisch held the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . In the Thirty Years War all farms were deserted.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 16 subject families in Großbreitenbronn, 12 of which were Ansbachian. At that time, the place already belonged to the Fraisch district of the Ansbach District Office . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

In 1806 Großbreitenbronn came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district Großbreitenbronn was formed in 1808 , to which the places Bammersdorf , Großbreitenbronn, Kleinbreitenbronn , Nehdorf , Waldeck , Willendorf and Winterschneidbach belonged. A little later the rural community Großbreitenbronn was founded, which was congruent with the tax district. It was subordinate to the Herrieden regional court in terms of administration and jurisdiction and to the Herrieden rent office in terms of financial administration ( renamed Herrieden tax office in 1920 , from 1950: Ansbach tax office ). With the second community edict (1818), Nehdorf was re-incorporated into the newly formed rural community of Leidendorf and Winterschneidbach to Burgoberbach .

In 1859 the train station was built in the Triesdorf municipality . From 1862 Großbreitenbronn was administered by the Feuchtwangen district office ( renamed Feuchtwangen district in 1938 ). The jurisdiction remained until 1879 the District Court Herrieden, since 1880 district court Herrieden , 1950 District Court Ansbach . The municipality had an area of 9.305 km².
