Gerbersdorf (dialect: "gęrwəschdǫrf") is a district of the town of Merkendorf in the district of Ansbach in Middle Franconia .

geography

The village is located on Moosgraben, which is called Moosach in the lower reaches and is a right tributary of the Nesselbach , which in turn is a left tributary of the Altmühl . The place is on the state road 2220 , which leads to Merkendorf (1.4 km southwest) or Wolframs-Eschenbach (1.3 km north). Municipal roads lead to Waizendorf to the district road AN 58 (1.2 km northwest) and to AN 12 (1.3 km southeast) between Biederbach (0.4 km south) and Wolframs-Eschenbach (2 km north).

history

The place was first mentioned in 1275 as "Gerwigesdorf". The final word of the place name is the personal name "Gērwīg". A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement. This document shows that Konrad IV von Oettingen sold his goods there to Abbot Rudolf of Heilsbronn Monastery .

According to the Salbuch der Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg from the year 1343, the Stadtvogteiamt Eschenbach in Gerbersdorf owned 1 fiefdom.

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 7 teams were recorded for Gerbersdorf: 5 farms and 1 estate were subordinate to the Merkendorf administration and 1 farm to the Eschenbach municipal bailiff. There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . According to the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Vogtamt Merkendorf from 1616, the six Heilsbronn properties were classified as 3 courtyards, 2 half courtyards and 1 estate. The administration office Merkendorf held the municipal law and the shepherd's staff.

The village was completely destroyed in the Thirty Years' War , and the four Heilsbronn estates were also deserted in 1635. Only a man named Stephan Hörauf survived. He had fled to Merkendorf.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 10 properties and a community shepherd's house in Gerbersdorf. The high court continued to exercise the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach , while the administration of Merkendorf held the village and community rulership. The landlords were the Merkendorf administrative office (2 courtyards, 5 half-yards, 1 estate) and the Eschenbach municipal bailiff (2 half-yards). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Gerbersdorf came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the municipal edict, the tax district Gerbersdorf was formed in 1808 , to which Adelmannsdorf , Biederbach , Gerbersdorf, Waizendorf and Weißbachmühle belonged. The rural community Gerbersdorf was founded in 1810 and was congruent with the tax district Gerbersdorf. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . With the second community edict (1818), the rural community Gerbersdorf was split into

  • Rural community Biederbach;
  • Rural community Gerbersdorf with Waizendorf and Weißbachmühle;
  • Rural community Selgenstadt with Adelmannsdorf.

From 1857 to 1862 Gerbersdorf was administered by the Gunzenhausen district court , since 1862 by the Gunzenhausen district office (renamed the Gunzenhausen district in 1938 ) and since 1865 by the Gunzenhausen rent office ( renamed Gunzenhausen tax office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Gunzenhausen from 1862 to 1879, since 1880 with the district court Gunzenhausen . The municipality had an area of 4.048 km².

Gerbersdorf was spared in World War II , although fierce fighting raged in nearby Merkendorf .

In the course of the municipal reform, the municipality was divided by resolutions of January 17, 1972 by the Gerbersdorf municipal council and the government of Middle Franconia: Gerbersdorf came to Merkendorf on July 1, 1972, the Waizendorf district to the neighboring town of Wolframs-Eschenbach .

On the communal road to Waizendorf there is a private biogas plant that was put into operation in 1995 and, in addition to generating electricity, supplies several properties with heating energy. In 2009 the city of Merkendorf in Gerbersdorf carried out the village renewal .
