history
The place was first mentioned in 1304 as "Watzendorf". The defining word of the place name is the personal name Watzo. A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement. In the Salbuch der Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg from 1343 in the description of the Eschenbach office , the place is mentioned as "Waczendorf". At that time the office owned 2 hubs , 4 fiefs, 2 farms, 1 house, wood and fields.
In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 11 teams are recorded for “Wazendorf”: 5 farms and 5 estates were subordinate to the Eschenbach municipal bailiff, 1 estate to the Merkendorf administration office . There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach . The property, which is subordinate to the Merkendorf administration office, was also listed in the 16-point report of the Heilsbronn Vogtamt Merkendorf.
Towards the end of the 18th century there were 13 properties and a community shepherd's house in Waizendorf. The high court continued to exercise the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach, and village and community rulership was held by the city bailiff's office in Eschenbach. The landlords were the Eschenbach municipal bailiff (4 farms, 4 half farms, 2 estates, 1 estate), the Eschenbach parish and beneficiary foundation (1 estate) and the Merkendorf administration office (1 estate). At that time there were 10 subject families, 1 of which was Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .
As part of the municipal edict, Waizendorf was assigned to the Gerbersdorf tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Gerbersdorf, founded in 1810 . On July 1, 1972, this was dissolved in the course of the municipal reform. Gerbersdorf was incorporated into Merkendorf , Waizendorf came to Wolframs-Eschenbach.
