history

The place was first mentioned by name in the Würzburger Lehenbuch , which was created between 1303 and 1313, in the list of possessions of the Lords of Heideck . The Heidecker exercised the bailiwick over 3 12  strokes in the village . In 1407 the place was mentioned as "Weltendorffe". The final word is the personal name "Walto" or "Welto". A person of this name can be assumed to be the founder of the settlement.

In the Salbuch of the Nuremberg Nursing Office Lichtenau from 1515 8 subject families were given for Wöltendorf: 1 subject was subordinate to the imperial city of Nuremberg, 5 subjects to the city bailiff office of Eschenbach of the Teutonic Order and 2 subjects to the Ansbach citizen Friedrich Stetner. In the official description of the Lichtenau Nursing Office from 1748, "Wöltendorff" is part of the Immeldorf team. There were 9 subject families, 3 of which were from Nuremberg.

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 9 properties and a community shepherd's house in Wöltendorf. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and municipal bailiff's office in Windsbach with the exception of two properties, over which the Lichtenau nursing office exercised the high court. The town bailiwick office in Eschenbach was in charge of the village and community . The landlords were the Teutonic Order (Stadtvogteiamt Eschenbach: 1 Söldengütlein ; Almosenamt Eschenbach: 1 Halbhof; Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg : 1 Hof, 1 Gut), the Nursing Office Lichtenau (2 estates), the Nuremberg owner von Tucher (1 Halbhof) and the manor Obermögersheim ( 1 courtyard, 1 half courtyard). From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

As part of the municipal edict, Wöltendorf was assigned to the Sauernheim tax district, which was formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Sauernheim, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818) Wöltendorf was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Reutern . This was incorporated into Wolframs-Eschenbach on January 1, 1972 as part of the municipal reform.
