history

The place was first mentioned in 1269 as "Rvtherin". This document shows that Burchard von Eschenbach from Heilsbronn u. a. Received goods in Reutern. The place name is a dative plural form of the Middle High German word a) "riuter" (= the Reuter) or b) "riute" (= the clearing). In the first case the place name would mean To those who cleared , in the second case to the clearing .

In the Salbuch der Deutschordenskommende Nürnberg from 1343 1 court, 5 hubs , 4 fiefdoms and 1 farmstead were recorded for the place , which were subordinate to the Eschenbach office .

In the 16-point report of the Oberamt Windsbach from 1608, 11 teams were specified for Reutern. 1 yard was under the Windsbach caste office , 5 yards and 5 goods were under the Eschenbach municipal bailiff. There was also a communal shepherd's house. The high court exercised the Brandenburg-Ansbach caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach .

Towards the end of the 18th century there were 11 properties and a community shepherd's house in Reutern. The high court continued to exercise the caste and city bailiff's office in Windsbach, and village and community rulership was held by the city bailiff's office in Eschenbach. The landlords were the Eschenbach municipal bailiff (5 courtyards, 2 estates, 2 estates, 1 empty building ) and the Windsbach caste management (1 courtyard). There were 13 subject families at that time, 1 of which was Ansbachian. From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the Justice and Chamber Office Windsbach .

In 1806 Reutern came to the Kingdom of Bavaria . As part of the community edict, Reutern was assigned to the Sauernheim tax district, formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community of Sauernheim, founded in 1810 . With the second community edict (1818), Reutern broke up with the Bölleinsmühle , Sallmannshof , Utzenmühle and Wöltendorf from Sauernheim and formed a rural community. It was subject to the Heilsbronn Regional Court in administration and jurisdiction and the Windsbach Rent Office in the financial administration . From 1862 to 1879 Reutern was administered by the Heilsbronn district office, since 1880 by the Gunzenhausen district office (renamed the Gunzenhausen district in 1938 ) and the Gunzenhausen rent office ( renamed the Gunzenhausen tax office in 1920 ). The jurisdiction remained with the district court Heilsbronn until 1879, since 1880 with the district court Gunzenhausen . The municipality had an area of 5,866 km². On January 1, 1972, the community came to the district of Ansbach and was incorporated into Wolframs-Eschenbach as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
