history

Irrebach has developed around a mill estate, which probably comes from the legacy of the Dornbergs and which the Lords of Heideck, as one of the two heirs of the Dornbergs, gave as a fief . Documented records begin in 1388.

The place was in the Fraisch district of the Ansbach Oberamt Ansbach . In the late 18th century, there were 11 Untertansfamilien, one of which was ansbachisch, three had the eichstättische Stadtvogtei Office Ornbau as a landlord . From 1797 to 1808 the place was under the judiciary and chamber office of Ansbach .

As part of the community edict, Irrebach was assigned to the Weidenbach tax district formed in 1808 . It also belonged to the rural community Weidenbach , which was founded a little later . With the second community edict (1818) Irrebach was re-grouped into the newly formed rural community Esbach . In 1846 at the latest, this community was incorporated into the rural community of Leidendorf , as can be seen from the statistical handbook and address book of Middle Franconia . In the same work it is mentioned that there was an innkeeper, a blacksmith, a brandy burner, an oil mill, a weaver and a shepherd's house belonging to Sommersdorf. Six families in the village were subject to the patrimonial jurisdiction of the Lords of Sommersdorf and Thann until 1848 .

On July 1, 1971, Irrebach was incorporated into the Weidenbach market as part of the regional reform .
