The Smith & Wesson Model 2206 is a single-action sport pistol in the small bore .22 lfB . Production stopped in 1996. Technically, it is a descendant of the Smith & Wesson Model 422 series.

construction

The weapon has a 6- or 4.5-inch barrel, a wing safety and a magazine safety, which means that the trigger can only be operated when a magazine has been inserted into the magazine well. Special features of the weapon are the return spring above the deep barrel and the internal cock.

The original version of the magazine holds 12 cartridges ; following legal changes in the USA by the Clinton administration, the magazine capacity was limited to 10 rounds. The magazine sits in the handle of the weapon. The barrel has a length of 152 mm, the total length is 235 mm, the total height is 140 mm, the total width is 32 mm. The trigger pull is relatively high for a sport pistol at over 2200 g .

Depending on the model, the weight is approx. 1100 grams.

The price in Germany was around 800 DM , in the USA it was a popular entry-level sports pistol and cost 225 dollars.

The finish of the weapon is matt silver. The handles are made of plastic.
