Sneakemail

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At the beginning of 2000 , Sneakemail started as the first disposable mail service. Since the start, the service has been characterized by a simple website and the fight against spam . Sneakemail was originally financed by an advertising banner in the page header and by income from premium accounts . From 2002 to 2009 the site operated under the name Sneakemail.com 2.0 .

Around the end of 2009, with the launch of the Sneakemail 3.0 version, Sneakemail changed its payment model. Since then, all users have to pay for the service on a monthly basis, with a free trial period of 30 days.

function

Sneakemail offers the possibility of generating any number of e-mail addresses via which e-mails can be sent and received. The service is designed for forwarding only. Receipt must be made using a regular email account.

Protection against spam is achieved by the fact that each e-mail address generated is only used for an external service for which an e-mail address must be specified. E-mail addresses via which unwanted masses of messages arrive cannot make an entire e-mail account unusable. The user can delete this one e-mail address if necessary and only needs to change his e-mail address for this one service. A side effect of using a single sneak email address is the overview of the services to which you are logged on (meaningful naming required).

Organization of the generated addresses

Each generated address is used via an identifying name. The addresses are created in a folder structure whereby subfolders are also possible. The overview of this folder structure takes place via the menu item Desktop .

Any number of rules can be defined, which define the forwarding to real addresses or the deletion of incoming e-mails. A rule for incoming e-mails is assigned to each generated address. For each address it is possible to apply different rules from the main rule by filtering on the sender or recipient address and the subject.

For each e-mail address generated, the transfer volume generated in the current month and the e-mail addresses that were addressed via this address (with the respective transfer volume and total number) are available.

particularities

  • Any number of addresses can be generated in the free test phase. The maximum transfer volume is unlimited since version 3.0 of Sneakemail.
  • The name of the generated address can be seen in the sender field of every email received via Sneakemail.
  • The sender field contains the real sender address, but a direct response is made via a temporary sneakemail address, whereby the real sender address is replaced by the sneakemail address.
  • With a premium account, addresses can be generated automatically.

restrictions

  • During the test phase, up to ten new sneakemail addresses can be added per day, with a subscription up to 50 per day.
  • The website is only available in English, not in several languages.
