Snowskate

As Snowskate (also Snow cover or Snow Skateboard ) is called a sports equipment that a Skateboard (Deck) without wheels, but with runners or sliding surfaces for snow, similar. It is assigned to the so-called fun sports .

Instead of the rough surface (griptape) found on conventional skateboards, snowskates have a rubber or neoprene surface to prevent icing from snow. Unlike a snowboard , the rider is not connected to the board by a binding. In contrast to a snowboard, it also has no metal edge. Steering is mainly done by moving the snowskate with your feet, as the deck is very stiff for reasons of stability. The underside of the snowskate is provided with longitudinal grooves, the so-called channels , which ensure that the snowskate moves straight ahead.

The snow decks are a variation of the snowskates . A kind of ski (sub-deck) under the board replaces the channels here . Models with four small runners instead of the wheels of a skateboard are also available. Related sports equipment also includes snoglides .
