The Social Democratic Front ( SDF acronym ) was a social democratic party in Ghana during the Third Republic between 1979 and 1981.

The party was founded on January 1, 1979.

In the presidential election in 1979, Alhaji Ibrahim Mahama ran as chairman of the SDF and won 3.72 percent of the vote (66,445 votes). The SDF achieved 3 of the 140 seats in the National Assembley elections. The party was also nicknamed SDF-The Party of Labor during the election .
