Società Italiana di Antropologia e Etnologia
The Società Italiana di Antropologia e Etnologia (Italian Society for Anthropology and Ethnology) was founded in 1871 by Paolo Mantegazza and Felice Finzi . The company is based in Florence . Its current president is Piero Mannucci .
The society was originally founded under the name Società italiana di antropologia, etnologia e psicologia comparata (Italian Society for Anthropology, Ethnology and Comparative Psychology). It publishes the scientific journal Archivio per l'antropologia e la etnologia . In 1869, the chair of anthropology at the University of Florence was established, to which Paolo Mantegazza was appointed, in the same year the National Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology ( Museo nazionale di anthropologia ed etnologia ) was founded.
