Sokół is a motorcycle brand from Poland , which was produced from 1934 to 1939 in the "Państwowe Zakłady Inżynieryjne" and from 1947 to 1950 in the "Państwowe Zakłady Samochodowe nr 2" in Warsaw . The Polish name Sokół means "falcon".

The first model was the Sokol 600 RT, followed by the Sokol 1000 model released in 1936. The Sokol 1000 and 600 models were the most famous pre-war motorcycles in Poland. They were also basic equipment in the Polish military . The Sokol 200 model was introduced before the war, but only a very small number of them were built. After the war there was only the light Sokol 125. The fact that the machines were mainly built for the army is responsible for the fact that the machines were so heavy and reliable. A cold start at - 40 ° C was also possible because special valves were provided through which fuel could be pumped directly into the cylinder with the help of an injector . Another special feature is the throttle grip on the left. Since the army used the motorcycle in sidecar operation, this solution was deemed more appropriate. The ignition control was on the right side.

The chief designer was engineer Zygmunt Okołów. Up to 1939 approx. 3400 pieces were produced and the price of 4200 zł corresponded to that of a small car.
