Solar yield

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The solar yield is a parameter for the energetic yield of a solar system or a building that is supplied with solar energy .

Specific solar yield with collectors

The solar yield is given as a specific value for solar collectors and has the unit kWh / m². DIN 4757 provides uniform specifications for determining the solar yield .

Solar yield for buildings

The solar yield of a building is given when installing facilities for the production of solar energy for energetic use in the building. It describes the amount of energy that can be obtained from solar energy within a year and is usually given in kWh. The calculation of the solar yield for buildings is based on the Energy Saving Ordinance or DIN V 18599 .

Solar yield with photovoltaics

In relation to the incident solar radiation, photovoltaic modules have an efficiency of 8 and up to 25% and this is indicated by the manufacturer by specifying the peak performance in the technical data of the module. The annual solar yield is then calculated as the product of the annual specific solar radiation per square meter and the peak output of the solar module.
