The Artà solar power plant is located in the municipality of Artà on the Balearic island of Mallorca .
The power plant is located in the north of the Balearic island and was commissioned after a two-year construction period in July 2010 on an area of 12 hectares. Assuming standard test conditions, solar modules with a total of around 3.4 MW p were installed. The project developer and general contractor was a consortium of the companies Classic Energy GmbH, Heilbronn and KS Management GmbH, Weikersheim. The built-in solar modules come from the German subsidiary of First Solar and were installed on raised assembly supports so that the land can continue to be used as pasture.
The operator of the facility is White Owl Capital AG (WOC) based in Berlin. WOC currently operates 19 solar power plants in Spain with a total output of almost 60 megawatts.
