The Cortadeta solar power plant is located in the municipality of Llucmajor on the Balearic island of Mallorca . The operator is Edisun Power AG, based in Zurich .
The construction of the ground- mounted photovoltaic system was planned and financed by the Swiss company Edisun Power AG and built by the Spanish Energés Gestión Medioambiental SL from Seville, which has already built three systems in Spain for the Swiss company . The solar power plant went online on July 13, 2012 with an output of 2.2 MWp . With the new system, Edisun Power is expanding its power generation capacity to 14.0 megawatts.
The system with around 35,000 m² was built with modules from the Chinese photovoltaic manufacturer CNPV . The Solarmax inverters used were supplied by the Swiss company Sputnik Engineering AG from Biel. The solar modules were installed on raised assembly supports so that the land can continue to be used as pasture .
